11. Idea Napkin No. 1

1. I am a 22-year-old Korean studying in Florida. I've lived in more than 5 countries ever since I was 7 years old. As such, I greatly rely on my skills to quickly adapt to any major cultural and social changes. I believe that my talents to effectively communicate to anyone in any background has led me to numerous opportunities as a person always captivated with entrepreneurial ideas and chances. My business concept is to revitalize the golfing industry with public golf practice ranges.
2. I am offering a public golf range that is compact, but is both cost-effective and cost-efficient. It will include a putting/chipping green, 12 mats on the first floor, 8 driving mats with automatic golf ball dispensers on the second floor exclusively for VIP members, and two studios with fitting simulators such as PGA simulator or TrackMan simulator.
3. The demographic characteristics of my customers will be divided based on the time they will be using the range. In the late afternoons, the practice facility will mainly be open to young members in their teens and 20s, who have finished their school work and have either come to practice their skills by themselves or with a pro assigned at the facility. In the early morning and late evenings, the range will be open mainly for adults above 30s who have managed to take time for their family after or before work.
4. First of all, this practice range is unlike any other range in the fact that fees are counted time-wise, not by the number of balls that they are hitting. As for the members with access to the second floor, they will only pay the monthly fee to hit unlimited ball for unlimited time. Also, the fact that this range is open for 24 hours is also another great value that customers will appreciate.
5. One of the great competencies of this range is that the range has studios that will cater to golfers of all levels and ages. We will be able to fit golf clubs at the range itself, and partner with a variety of golfing brands to have customers test new clubs out right away at the ranges.

  1. Minseok,

I enjoyed reading about your background. I think your idea is very interesting and worth-while. A public golf range sounds like a blast. Have you ever been to top golf? Is your idea kind of like that? I like how versataille your idea is, you explained that it will cater too many different ages and skill levels. My only concern is competition, top golf is super popular right now and has great brand recognition, how do you plan to compete?

  2. Minseok,
I find it amazing that you have lived in five countries. I can see how this has made you adaptable to social and cultural changes. This adaptability is important in the business world, especially in entrepreneurship. Being adaptive to cultural and social differences allows you to communicate better and understand other points of views easier. I like your entrepreneurial idea of opening this golfing range, which would be available to people of all ages. I find it unique that customers get charged based on time, rather than the amount of balls they hit.

  3. Minseok,
I agree with you that living in different places can help one's adoption ability and communication skills. Furthermore, I believe that it can also open one's perspective in a unique way. I found it interest that the golf range is open to different age groups at different times. Moreover, it is open 24 hours is also a convenience factor for customers among different age groups.
