19. Idea Napkin No. 2
1. I am a 22-year-old Korean studying in Florida. I've lived in more than 5 countries ever since I was 7 years old. As such, I greatly rely on my skills to quickly adapt to any major cultural and social changes. I believe that my talents to effectively communicate to anyone in any background has led me to numerous opportunities as a person always captivated with entrepreneurial ideas and chances. My business concept is to revitalize the golfing industry with public golf practice ranges.
2. I am offering a public golf range that is compact, but is both cost-effective and cost-efficient. It will include a putting/chipping green, 12 mats on the first floor, 8 driving mats with automatic golf ball dispensers on the second floor exclusively for VIP members, and two studios with fitting simulators such as PGA simulator or TrackMan simulator.
3. The demographic characteristics of my customers will be divided based on the time they will be using the range. In the late afternoons, the practice facility will mainly be open to young members in their teens and 20s, who have finished their school work and have either come to practice their skills by themselves or with a pro assigned at the facility. In the early morning and late evenings, the range will be open mainly for adults above 30s who have managed to take time for their family after or before work.
4. First of all, this practice range is unlike any other range in the fact that fees are counted time-wise, not by the number of balls that they are hitting. As for the members with access to the second floor, they will only pay the monthly fee to hit unlimited ball for unlimited time. Also, the fact that this range is open for 24 hours is also another great value that customers will appreciate.
5. One of the great competencies of this range is that the range has studios that will cater to golfers of all levels and ages. We will be able to fit golf clubs at the range itself, and partner with a variety of golfing brands to have customers test new clubs out right away at the ranges.

My classmates have commented that TopGolf is a great competitor in this market. I beg to differ with them. I believe that TopGolf focuses more on food and entertainment than it does on actual game of golf. That is why we see such success with TopGolf. It is a great model that allows people of all backgrounds to be introduced slightly to the game of golf. However, I don't think that TopGolf will be a direct competitor in the sense that my golf range will focus more on experienced golfers and beginning golfers who are seriously interested in developing their skills for the game.
Minseok,
ReplyDeleteI think one of the most active skills one could have is to adapt to any environment and get involved as well. I believe your experience can enhance your social skills and become more independent. I agree that you have a great business idea. Likewise, you want to target different customers by allowing members to have access to the golf court anytime they want, which is a great business concept for a broader range of customers. All in all, I like your business idea.
