Venture Concept No. 2

Opportunity
The opportunity that I'm trying to take advantage of is the absence of a golf range that is of a satisfactory quality. All golf courses/ranges in Gainesville, Florida only provides ranges that will close at 10pm. Also, their businesses will not provide balls even if customers make it to the range at 8~9pm if they run out of balls or if their cart runs out of order. I believe that this dissatisfaction within the customers' community in Gainesville must be targeted and be capitalized upon.
Innovation
The biggest innovation for my business is that every major needs of the customers will be satisfied through the automatic systems. The ball dispensers will be automatic, and there wouldn't be much loss since it is all included in the price that the customers are paying for the total amount of time that they are using the facility. Also, the construction of the range will allow nets to automatically lead the balls back into the bank which will distribute balls into the dispensers again. Also, we will place phone stands on the golf bag holders which will help golfers film their golf swings and self-evaluate their own swings.
If such systems are not enough, the golf range will provide the aid of PGA-certified professionals who will be able to access the fitting studio to specifically see what the golfers' problems are and to give them detailed advice and explanation of their solutions.
Venture Concept
My business concept is to revitalize the golfing industry with public golf practice ranges.
I am offering a public golf range that is compact, but is both cost-effective and cost-efficient. It will include a putting/chipping green, 12 mats on the first floor, 8 driving mats with automatic golf ball dispensers on the second floor exclusively for VIP members, and two studios with fitting simulators such as PGA simulator or TrackMan simulator.
The demographic characteristics of my customers will be divided based on the time they will be using the range. In the late afternoons, the practice facility will mainly be open to young members in their teens and 20s, who have finished their school work and have either come to practice their skills by themselves or with a pro assigned at the facility. In the early morning and late evenings, the range will be open mainly for adults above 30s who have managed to take time for their family after or before work.
First of all, this practice range is unlike any other range in the fact that fees are counted time-wise, not by the number of balls that they are hitting. As for the members with access to the second floor, they will only pay the monthly fee to hit unlimited ball for unlimited time. Also, the fact that this range is open for 24 hours is also another great value that customers will appreciate.
One of the great competencies of this range is that the range has studios that will cater to golfers of all levels and ages. We will be able to fit golf clubs at the range itself, and partner with a variety of golfing brands to have customers test new clubs out right away at the ranges.

  1. Minseok,
I think you did a great job by identifying the opportunities that are existing in Gainesville. I believe that you have a well-written plan for this venture just by looking through your post. Also, the automatic system is beneficial for the consumer and owner when the golf court is open 24 hours. Overall, I think your venture idea is a great idea.
